EB916     designed for ¾" thick doors with shaped or square edges.

A perfect alternative to a standard butt hinge.

As seen in the hybrid cabinet drawings, you can simulate a face frame cabinet, using your frameless case cabinet methods to create a traditional face frame inset door look.

EB916   can be used with any typicial 35 mm cup hinge.

To use  EB916 on  3/4"" th. doors, rout a  3/16" cove cut where the hinge barrel will be located.  Or you can rout a 3/16" cove all around the door edge for an additional detail.  This detail also makes it easier to allign the doors during installation.  An alternative design is to only shape the outside edges of the doors.  When there are two (2) doors in an opening you can leave the typical square edge joint between two doors.

Note:     When you shape the edge of the door, test to see that there is enough space for the EB916 to fit.  Making sure not to cut into the hinge boss hole.  A small O-gee or a 3/16" cove work fine with a 3/4"th door.

Finish Notes

EuroButt  comes in solid brass, polished and lacquered.  You can amend the finish yourself, or send it out to a metal finisher or plater in your area.

To refinish yourself.

EuroButt has a cellulose lacquer finish on it.  There is no stress on EuroButt  .

Antique brass finish; Dip or spray the EuroButt  in/with a lacquer based stain, like brown mahogany. Let it dry, then buff with steel wool or scotch brite pads, to bring up brass highlites.  Then spray with a satin lacquer.

Metal finishes, such as;  Pewter, Nickel, Bronze, etc.  You can find metallic paints in aerosol cans at most auto parts stores.  The paint in the cans will adhere to the lacquer on the EuroButt .

It is always best to build a small mock up, to see how the EB-916  will work in your application.  That way you'll understand better how to set your drilling distance of the 35mm hole, (tab, K, or DBE).
